A baby on the way...

Today was the baby shower for our friend and colleague in my office. She was totally surprised and nearly cried...well she did a little but she'd never admit it. She'll be leaving on maternity leave in the next month. I'm not quite sure what we'll do without her for 3 months. I will have to find one of my other employees to bother! :)

Swim Lessons

Tonight was Alexander's very first swim lesson...well official one anyway. We've been working with him for a while now and he can doggy paddle, jump off the side of the pool, kick and of course splash like mad. So, we decided it was time to start real swim lessons at the Y. He was the old man in a group of 4 kids which ages ranged from ages 6 months to 16 months and then there was him, my giant. The teacher, Melissa, used him as an example and decided mid way through the lesson that he should wear a floating device already. Probably something those kids don't really do too often in that class. Oh well, at least he'll have 5 more classes of fun stuff before the next class starts in July. That's more advanced and in the outdoor pool. OOHH AHHH! Aunt MeMe was along for the ride and of course took all the pics so Ricardo could see the action.

Drink Anyone?

I was sitting on the couch clipping coupons Sundaywhen I heard Alexander doing something behind me. What I thought I heard was Sonny eating which is weird because he didn't have any food besides what was in his bowl in the kitchen. So, I asked Alexander if he was feeding Sonny and in his little squeeky voice he says, "yes". So I look to see him sitting on the floor pouring his Capri Sun into his pool toys and letting Sonny drink it. I took a video but for some reason I can't get it to load. Those two are something else.

Games, food, and bbq

This Saturday we had a houseful of people (as usual). The parents, my sis and girlfriend, and all of our great friends from the karate school came over to eat, play, and have fun. Mel and I spent the morning doing some yard projects where I got injured because she dropped a 1x6 on my foot from about 4 feet up. Thankfully the flip flop I had on saved my foot...well sort of. Alexander and Daniel had great fun drawing on the driveway with Mimi and Krystal and we even had a full out baseball game in the back yard. Ricardo and Trevor got carried away with their competitiveness...Trevor knocked his own kid over trying to get the out (Nate is 5)  then Ricardo actually dove to tag him. Seriously????!!! Grammy and P had a ball with Alexander and they even made a special trip to Menards today to buy bubbles. Alexander came home with bubbles and a ball. Hmmm! Can't say too much, P mowed our yard Saturday and played grill master. Gotta love that! Oh and I even played barber to Ricardo and Steve. Nice!

Zoo fun

Had tons of fun with my best friend Teresa and her kids. (I'm super lucky to have two best friends for the the
Past 30 years). We headed to the zoo and the day ended up being warm and sunny.

Surprise

My sis surprised Ricardo with some super fun "you're a champ" decorations. Ricardo was so surprised. He liked the tiny trophy like things on the table the best. He also got a ribbon thats a pin. He didn't wear it to karate for some reason though. Haha!

Ricardo got asked to compete in the Shodakan World Championships in September. Only 4 blackbelts in the whole country get to compete and he's one of them. We're so proud of him!

Makin a wish...

P gave Alexander a penny and told him to make a wish that his mom was taller. LOL

First Place

Ricardo won first at the National Qualifier today. We're so proud of him. Alexander got hold the trophy.
