Connect Day 2012

Yesterday was Connect Day 2012 at our church. We had a huge corn hole tournament with around 80 teams. Eli and Eric did an awesome job orchestrating the tournament and keeping everything well organized. The main purpose of Connect Day is to get people into small groups and get everyone connected. Since Ricardo and I have been well involved in the short time we have been at CCG we were asked to become group leaders so we formed our own group, Monday Night Madness. Ya, I named the group. Hey, just because it’s for church doesn’t mean it has to be boring or weird. Right!?! We have 10 adults and 9 kids so far. Last night we met everyone who we didn’t already know and got some time to hang out, eat food, and have a great time fellowshipping with friends and family. Steve and I both escaped having our picture taken…not sure how that happened. Ricardo and Trevor made it to the sweet 16 round and got beat and so did Kristy and Beth. After going to service yesterday morning, being coerced into yet another lunch after church (yes Eli I’m talking about you), and heading back to church in the late afternoon, we were beat. But I can honestly say that these are the best days. And honestly we weren’t coerced into lunch…we go willingly to hang out with our friends and enjoy their awesome company. We absolutely LOVE the friends we’ve made and the new friends that we’re forming. We also thoroughly enjoy getting to spend time with our great friends that we’ve known for years now (yes that’s the McDonalds). What a blessing CCG has been to us and we just can’t wait to keep going and getting more involved and seeing what God has in store for our lives.
