My mother in law, Igsora, arrived today to visit for the next month and spend time with the baby. Of course it looked like Christmas in our living room because she seriously had 2 suitcases full of gifts so I started calling her Santa Clause. But, ChaChi thought Abuela Clause or "Grandma Clause" was much more fitting. When you have a trash bag out to dispose of the wrapping and tissue paper, it's like Christmas. She made Alexander sheets for his crib complete with matching pillow cases, a blanket that is embroidered with his initials and clothes. She even brought him a bracelet that's engraved with his name. Latinos always have little necklaces and bracelets for babies to wear...it's a cultural thing. Ricardo was so excited because the bracelet looks just like the one I got him for his wedding gift that's also engraved. He's already so excited that his son is going to look like him in so many ways. Ricardo's aunts made him sheets also and his dad and grandma sent clothes as well. And, of course, we all got gifts too like clothes, Venezuelan cheese, and cool little things like roseries (they're Catholic). Ricardo's whole family made Alexander a book that has a nice message for Alexander written by each one of them. They are seriously the sweetest people!
We took Abuela Clause out for dinner to the Cheesecake Factory and took some fun pictures after we ate. You can take notice of the super huge belly I'm sporting right now. A white shirt will always do the trick!
