December Snow

My mother in law got her first snow of her 2007 visit this weekend. She was so excited that it was snowing, all she could do was ask for more pictures. She's seen the snow before but it's been many years ago. It snows in Venezuela in the mountains but even at that, it's very minimal and it's definately not near where she lives. I think some boots to keep at our house are definately in order for Igsora because she had to come outside in my rubber boots and they are certainly not warm. She thought Sonny's love of the snow was something else. Hopefully, it'll keep snowing during her visit so we can send lots of fun pictures back to Venezuela for the whole family to see.

I am decorated for Christmas too!

Weary Traveler

gs.
My mother in law, Igsora, flew in from Venezuela tonight. She brought yummy candy, snacks, and of course, gifts. Woo Hoo! She'll be here for the next month to celebrate the holidays with us and she's already enjoying relaxing and playing with the dogs. Thankfully, Sonny acted like she hadn't even been gone but a minute. She refers to him as Fuerte, which is strong in Spanish...understatement at times. hehe

I am one handsome dog!

Christmas changes

We decided to move some things around for the holiday and I think it's going to stay. Enjoy the pics and please ignore the cord on the snowflake as I have yet to hide it. That's going to involve a very long extension cord and hanging it upside down. There are lights in the windows behind the TV that look really pretty at night. I did a lot more decorating than normal but I'm pretty pleased.

Happy Anniversay To Us!

This past weekend we celebrated our first year anniversary. We can't believe how fast the year gone by, that's for sure. We decided to try something different and drove to Pigeon Forge Tennessee and stayed in a really awesome cabin in the Smokey Mountains. The cabin came equiped with an indoor jacuzzi, an outdoor hot tub, pool table, and 2 fireplaces. We went out Saturday night and ate really great seafood and rode the worst ride ever called the Jurasic Log Ride. We laughed about that poor choice. I was tempted to purchase cowboy boots at this really nice store and then realized that I was not Jessica Simpson in the Dukes of Hazzard movie. YIKES! Sunday, we drove to Asheville North Carolina and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery on the way down. The leaves in the south haven't fallen off of the trees and the fall colors are still in bloom. When we got back, we had several cards waiting on us from our sisters and from the dogs. Mom and Steve got us a really nice flower arrangement too. It was a really great way to celebrate our first year together!

Ricardo Turns 30!

Ricardo turned the BIG 30 on 11/3! We spent the day with our sisters. Fortunately, I was able to invite them to eat with us without him knowing it and we really had a fun time. We ended the night playing pool which was something Ricardo hadn't done before and he had a lot of fun learning.
The next day Ricardo and ChaChi had to try out his new karate gear I got him...since then he's forced me to particpate in kicks and punches each night. Well, almost every night. hehe

Arizona Adventure

Last week Ricardo and I left for Arizona to see my family. Our trip started off a little rough as our flight was delayed from a storm in New Jersey so we didn't think we were going to make it to our connection in Houston on time. Well, this nice man found us another flight and we made it within 20 minutes of our original time to Tucson. Very thankful for that! We went mountain hiking which was so scary because it's so high. Ricardo stood on the edge and scared me half to death. We road the ski lift to the top of Mt. Lemmon which is where it caught fire a few years back and we got to see all of the new life and new construction of cabins and homes. Definately amazing to see. Ricardo got to use a porta potty for the first time in his life so I had to take a picture of him coming out. Dad wanted me to open the door and actually take his picture but Ricardo started yelling, "I can hear you!" LOL! Dad and Ricardo opted for all you can eat sushi Friday night which was very interesting to say the least. We had dinner with family on Saturday after we went to a flea market and then Sunday we went up to the mountains again and went 4-wheeling and had a picnic. It was so beautiful and so fun. We really enjoyed spending so much alone time with Dad and Peggy and Ricardo really enjoyed getting to know dad more. We decided the two of them together are a dangerous combination. Enjoy the pics!

Labor Day

I guess having the day off on Labor Day means you work...well, it did for us. We spent most of the afternoon cutting down dead tree limbs and cleaning up the mess. My aunt and uncle came over and brought the chain saw which was a HUGE help. Ricardo even got his hands dirty...his new gloves dirty, anyway. My Uncle Rick showed him how to use the chain saw for the first time ever! He really got into it and got the "your a real Hoosier now" badge from my uncle. Aunt Mary helped hold the limbs while they got cut and made repeated drink trips to the house. Melanie decided to sit in the hammock and participate in the difficult task of drinking coffee. As you can see, she was so worn out over the whole ordeal that after lunch she had to lay in the lawn chair with Sonny close by to catch some rays and her energy while I cleaned up the mess with the neighbors wheel barrow. The chips and salsa were too much for her to handle as you can well imagine. ChaChi spent her time working on laundry inside with Maverick at her heals(probably where my husband would have rather spent his time). Anyway...we have our yard back and a lot of wood for a
bonfire. Woo Hoo!

So Close

My friend CJ and I went to the Colt's game on Saturday and we were 6 rows from the field. It was so awesome. We got to see the new players...one of my new favs, Gonzalez! We had to take a pic right down by the field...oh wait, we were by the field. Go Colts! I just love football season!
