Third Annual Guerrero Fall Party

Yesterday was our third annual fall party. We started this a few years back to celebrate Alexander's birthday and have an excuse to invite an insane amount of people to our house. It's also my excuse to do some projects around the house that will inevitably cause Ricardo to lose his mind! HA! This year I (Ricardo says we) put up new curtains and painted not one but two rooms. We painted our family room and kitchen and all of the lower cabinets. INSANE! But, it needed it and was worth it in the end. Thankfully my mom, my friend Lauren, Cha Chi, and my mother in law helped us. If not, we would have never finished in 2 days.

The party was a cowboy themed this year which was really fun. My sister took it to the extreme by wearing chaps and a holster with guns. Hysterical! We started off with the arrival of a very very large bounce house that Melanie and I had to try out immediately. We made a large batch of Sangria that literally lasted 15 minutes. Ricardo was looking at me in desparation because it was already running out. We refilled but our friend Eric had to run to the liquor store to get another batch of wine and what not to add...did he walk in the door with a BOX of stuff, yes! We refilled a 3 gallon container probably 4 times, at least! Sad, I know! We enjoyed an awesome day with food, friends, family, and lots and lots of laughter. Our friend's mom, Carol, stole every baby that was at our houset (that's 4) at least once throughout the day. I got a picture of her with my little pal Claire (who is adorable). At last count we had 68 people at our house. Yes, 68!

The kids had a blast all day playing in the bounce house, riding the jeep, and eating entirely too much candy. We stuffed the pinata with 7 bags of candy and random items. Alexander got some great buddy time with his pal (girlfriend) Addison. She's older (5) and blond...what can we expect? They were inseperable all day. I believe the day ended poorly for Ricardo because he finally lost at cornhole and it was too dark for a rematch. (he stated he didn't appreciate me putting that in this post)

And, the bonus this year was that we got to invite a lot of friends from our small group and church which made the day even better. We always have such a great time with them and are so blessed to have them in our lives.

Happy Birthday Little Manny!

Today is Alexander's 4th birthday and we certainly can't believe how time has flown by. We started off the day around 7am. Ricardo got the bright idea to stick a candle in a piece of bread to sing happy birthday. He didn't want to break out his cake so I guess the bread was a healthy alternative. Ha! He got to open his gift from us which was a brand new set of Bongo drums. He was really excited. His Abuela gave him two pair if new drum sticks (orange and blue). Aunt Cha Chi gave him these egg things that are like maracas. He was stoked! Then he got to see all if his awesome decorations and hia new fish which he aptly named Nemo. He got to spend the entire day playing with his best pal Nathan. We went out for breakfast, hit the dentist for the first time, and had dinner with Grammy, P, Krystal and Meme. He's had a very fun day.

Sometime your kid's birthday is as much your 'birth' day as theirs. We remembered the day he arrived and reflected on the last 4 years. Our little manny is definately special and we're so thankful that God chose us to be his parents!

Reno

We spent the last two days redoing some things in our house...new curtains, painted two rooms, hung new trim, etc. Lookin' good! I included old and new pics.

Tonight was the awards ceremony for soccer and Alexander got his first trophy for playing sports. I guess we better buy some trophy cases huh?
