Aunt ChaChi's hat

Alexander LOVES his Aunt ChaChi and he thinks he's so cool when he wears her hats. She always takes the best pics of him when he's looking oh, so cute!

Downtown at the Canal

The weather this weekend has been picture perfect so we had to head out in the sun and enjoy a little time out and about. We started the weekend Friday evening at Cheeseburger in Paradise and enjoyed sitting outside waiting for our table. Waiting 30 minutes for a table is always ok when it's beautiful and you have an insanely large piƱa colada to drink(seriously it was so big it was embarrassing). Saturday, walked around some neighborhoods and handed out flyers for Ricardo's Karate classes. It was a little too warm for little man after a while so I stayed in the car and he took a nap. I got my first sun burn though, Bonus! Today was even better than yesterday. The breeze was just right and the sun wasn't too hot so we headed downtown to the canal. We stopped at McDonalds and bought a couple of salads so we could have a little picnic and enjoyed a few minutes under some shade. Unfortunately, we had to take turns eating because the turds at McDonalds didn't put any silverware in the bag so we had to share the spoon from the yogurt parfait. DUH! We took Alexander down by the river to take some pics and it was so windy his hair was blowing all over the place and he looked like he had a comb over. When we strolled by the Indiana State Museum Ricardo insisted we take pictures of little man on the mastodon. He initially wanted me to take the picture with him at the rear as if he was a giant turd coming out. I, of course, refused profusely!!! He claimed I was lacking a sense of humor so I agreed to at least allow him to grab the tail.

Growing too fast!

Today was Alexander's 6 month well baby check up. He's growing like a weed! His current stats are 27 1/4 inches long and 16.5 pounds. He is a lover of all things fruit and the yellow veggies. The ped said he was growing perfectly and will probably be long and lean as he grows. BONUS for his future soccer and karate careers! Since he is now cutting his first tooth he's been a bit of a challenge in the attitude department (not sure where he gets that). But, today he's been a lot better. After we got home from getting some groceries I just had to take a picture and film him for a bit. He's starting to make some new noises which we're sure will turn into words before long. All parents say their kids are the cutest I'm sure, but I have to say that we DO have the cutest little man on the planet.

My friends at work gave me these gorgeous roses Friday on my last day. Thanks Kristy, Jerry, Heather, and Ginny!

Alexander's First Trip

This weekend we decided to take little manny on his first trip. We drove down to Cincinnati and went to the Newport Aquarium and stayed all night in the Hyatt in downtown Cincinnati. He really loved watching all of the fish and even tried getting to the turtles through the glass at one point. He also had his first swim in the pool which did not go as planned. We bought him a boat to float around in and as soon as I blowed it up, it deflated...a hole! We patched it twice and it was still losing air but it worked ok for a bit. Unfortunately, he was not into the pool as much as we'd hoped BUT today his second swim went much better. I wish we had filmed his many trips up and down the elevator because they were having some conference or something and the hotel was filled with women. Everytime we got in the elevator they all oohed and awed over him and he was a little shell shocked. He just kept looking at them like what the heck is your deal! He was so well behaved though the whole time so we certainly couldn't complain. We finished out our trip with the breakfast buffet at the hotel and totally pigged out. We had paid an extra $10 for our room and got 50% off of all the food in the resturants in the hotel and room service. We figured we saved between $80 and $100. Bonus! Then today when we got home we realized he has his first tooth coming in. He's getting too big!

Advanced!

Should a baby that's not even 6 months old be able to do this?

Fun with Aunt Mel

Last week my sister watched Alexander for us on Tuesday because my mother in law, who normally watches him, had to return home to Venezuela for a month. Alexander LOVES his Aunt Melanie so much and always has so much fun when she's around. She took some pics of him playing and thought he was so cute when he was sleeping she took one then too. Well, yesterday she stopped by to do some laundry after returning from her trip over the weekend and Alexander was not his usual fun self. He had not felt so great most of the day and was just in a crappy mood. Well, as soon as he saw that Aunt Mel had oranges he perked right up. He was literally lunging for the oranges and once he got them in his mouth he shook his head like a dog playing tug of war. It was the funniest thing, I nearly peed my pants laughing. Afterwords, he acted like he felt 100% better. He was laughing and smiling and having a great time. I guess oranges do a body good!

First Easter

Yesterday was Alexander's first Easter. He got to experience an Easter basket with lots of goodies. The Easter Bunny even left something for daddy but it was more like an Easter nest. Alexander's basket looked and felt like a soccer ball and he was so excited. He really wanted to play with it but I didn't figure the grass inside was probably infant safe. He ended up getting another Easter basket at Grammy and Grampy's house with a new toy and a stuffed bunny, of course. His cousin Noah really enjoyed interacting with him this time because he's older and actually acknowledges him. Although, Alexander is a little into grabbing people's faces and I think he scratched poor Noah a couple of times.

Kickball Friday

Yes, it was kickball Friday again today...Financial Aid vs. Bursar! Unfortunately, we lost by one point but hey, it was fun none the less AND a great work out. We did have another injury which is dipicted in the first picture but she recovered and played on. I struck out a couple of times but managed to also score and catch a couple of fly balls. Next week, I'm going to commission my sister to play so we can win at least one!
