Future Artist

Each Friday Alexander has homework to do over the weekend. This week he had the Letter X of which he had find pictures that start with X. Thanks Grammy for doing that while we were at small group! His second project was quite large and involved finding items that described him or things he liked to do, friends, family, his birthday, etc...

So, yesterday morning Ricardo went through the paper and found adds for things he likes such as a cell phone, his favorite foods, a kid SUV, and drums. We had him cut them out...yes, he cut them out all by himself (note the jagged edges). Then yesterday evening he colored a picture of Batman and we found some pictures from Florida to put on there of family and friends and of course of Mickey. He also got to use my scrap book scissors and cut out some paper to add the numbers for his birthday (he was totally excited and made a huge mess). I can say in all honesty my child did all of his himself. He put the glue on everything and stuck the pictures where he wanted them and the stickers where he wanted them. If you look closely you'll see that one half of the page is literally covered in small dolphin stickers. I looked away for a second and he was going crazy putting those things everywhere. I just smiled and let him use up the rest of the sheet. We didn't get to add everything we wanted like pictures of Grammy and P, Aunt Meme, or Aunt Cha Chi but I think it turned out pretty great. Of course, the most important stickers were the ones that expressed his new love of Jesus. He's learning what God is about and I wanted to make sure his poster expressed that in the best 3 year old way possible with a sticker of a Jesus fish and one that said "God Made You Special" because Alexander is certainly my special little manny!

First soccer game

Today was Alexander's first soccer game. He is number 1 this season. Can you tell Ricardo handed out the shirts? He did ok but needs practice. We forget sometimes he is just 3. He has another month before he's 4. Hopefully over the next 5 games he'll pick it up a bit more. We had a large fan club show up to watch which was awesome and so appreciated!!!
